See the results of an MTU 4000 series 12-cylinder diesel engine teardown with over 20,000 hours on the engine after running exclusively with Schaeffer’s engine oil (Synshield 15W-40) and fuel additive (Carbon Treat).
Husky Metal Roofs trucks travel around Michigan and beyond to install metal roofing
on homes and businesses. Jim has always been one to keep up with top-notch
maintenance on his 15 trucks, a mix of Ford 150s and F250s. Additionally, managing
fuel economy has always been a big concern for the company.
When first approached by Schaeffer, Jim told his rep he was content with his current
oil. As Jim explained, because he wasn’t having any issues with his fleet, he didn’t
want to take a chance on extended drain intervals. After spending a few minutes
talking to his Schaeffer rep, Jim agreed to watch a product demo, which convinced
him to give Schaeffer’s Oil a try.
The results:
By switching his fleet over to Schaeffer’s Oils (5W-20, 5W-30 and 15W-40), Jim has
increased interval drains by 500 miles and gained an average of 3 miles per gallon
across the fleet. Additionally, the trucks are running smoother with cooler engine
temperatures. Jim said he’s since added two more trucks to the fleet, but hasn’t
needed to increase his fuel deliveries. Based on his results with Schaeffer’s Oil, he
plans on switching his fleet over to the Schaeffer’s gear lube and transmission fluid.
The Clare Dept. of Public Works had been using Schaeffer products and had such great results that they decided to put it in all of the patrol cars and the fire trucks as well!
The city patrol cars had been getting their oil changed every 200 hours. With oil analysis they were able to successfully extend the oil change intervals to 800 hours.
They have also had great results with other products including our Ultra Supreme Grease, Boom Lube, Penetro 90, Citrol and Roller Chain Spray.
