Parker Rigging Company was having a problem with a Link Belt crane which had a transmission that tended to overheat. Greg Jones, Parker Rigging's Fleet Maintenance Manager, was trying to find a way to lower the crane's transmission temperature by at least 10°F. In the spring of 2009, Greg decided to try Schaeffer's #239S Super Lube Supreme fluid in the crane instead of a Chevron fluid which Parker Rigging had previously used. When the crane was switched over to Schaeffer's #239S Super Lube Supreme fluid, the transmission temperature dropped almost 15°F, exceeding the expectations of Greg and the owners of Parker Rigging.
